Roman Reigns was born on 25 May 1985 in Pensacola, Florida, United States. His age is 35 years old. The Anoa-i descent is half-Samoan and half-Italian. His father, Sika Anoa-i, and his brother, Rosey, who died on April 17, 2017, were both professional wrestlers. He is a cousin of former professional wrestlers Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, who died on December 4, 2009, The Tonga Kid and first cousin, once removed to The Usos and The Rock, as a member of the Anoa-i family.
In early December 2014, Anoa-i married Galina Joelle Becker. He has a daughter named Joelle, who he appeared in a June 2014 public service announcement. In 2016, his wife gave birth to twin boys, followed in 2020 by yet another set of twins.
Anoa-i majored in management at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Roman Catholic and each time he enters the ring, he uses the sign of the cross.

He is part of the Anoa’i wrestling family, which also includes the Usos, Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, The Tonga Kid and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, his father Sika Anoa’i, brother Rosey and cousins.
Anoa-i started his professional football career with brief off-season stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) in 2007 after playing college football for Georgia Tech. He then played a full season in 2008 with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) before his release and retirement from football. He then sought a career in professional wrestling and was signed in 2010 by WWE, reporting to their Florida Championship Wrestling production territory (FCW). As Roman Reigns, alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins as The Shield, he made his main roster debut in November 2012. Until June 2014, after Reigns joined the singles competition, the trio teamed together.
