Lisa Blackpink Wiki/Bio
Lisa Blackpink was born in the Thai province of Buriram on March 27, 1997. On the recommendation of a fortune teller, she legally changed her name to Lalisa, which means celebrated, in order to usher in luck. Her Thai mother and Swiss stepfather adopted her as an only child.
Chitthip Bruschweiler is Lisa’s mother’s name. Marco Brüschweiler, her stepfather, is a well-known chef who is currently based in Thailand. Lisa attended Praphamontree School I and II for her secondary education.
She began taking dance lessons at the age of four and participated in dance competitions during her youth, including in “To Be Number One,”. She later formed the eleven-member dance crew We Zaa Cool, which included BamBam of Got7. The group received the “Unique Team” Award in the LG Entertainment Million Dream Sanan World competition, which aired on Channel 9 in September 2009.
Lisa also competed in a singing contest as a school delegate for the Moral Promotion Center’s “Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand” in early 2009, where she placed second.
Career
Lisa made her debut as one of four members of the South Korean girl group Blackpink in August 2016, making her the agency’s first non-Korean debut. The lead singles “Whistle” and “Boombayah” were released as part of Blackpink’s debut single album Square One. “Whistle” scored a flawless “all-kill,” debuting at the top of all South Korean rankings. The band has released two studio albums, Blackpink in Your Area and The Movie, three extended plays, Blackpink, Square Up, and Kill This Love, as well as two single albums, Square One and Square Two, as of October 2020.
From September 21, 2018, Lisa was cast as a permanent member of the MBC military variety show Real Guy 300 as part of the Korea Army Academy edition. Since her debut, this was her first permanent appearance on a television program. During the 2018 MBC Entertainment Awards, she received an unofficial nomination for “Character of the Year.”
On November 5, 2018, she launched Lilifilm Official, a YouTube channel dedicated to travel and lifestyle. She had over 1.3 million viewers as of July 2019 and had been awarded a YouTube Gold Play Button. Lisa acted as the dance coach for iQIYI’s Chinese girl group survival program Youth With You Season 2 in March 2020. In February 2021, she returned to the Chinese boy group survival show Youth With You Season 3 as a dance coach.
On April 19, 2021, a representative from YG Entertainment told South Korean news outlet The Korea Herald that Lisa will make her debut as the group’s third soloist and that she is hard at work on her record, with schedules to be released later via a note.
