Drake is a Canadian hip-hop artist. Also known as singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor, he is also called Dave. His birthday is October 24, 1986, and he was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian citizen, and is a member of the Jewish faith. His father is Dennis Graham, who is a professional drummer and jazz enthusiast who is professionally known as “Jerry Lewis”, and his mother is Sandi Graham, who is an English teacher and florist.

Drake rose to prominence after acting in the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001–2007); pursuing a career in music, he released the mixtapes Room for Improvement in 2006 and Comeback Season in 2007. In 2010, Drake released his debut studio album Thank Me Later, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States. Take Care (2011) was a critical and financial triumph for him, as was Nothing Was the Same (2013)

Drake became the Toronto Raptors’ new “global ambassador” in 2013, joining the NBA team’s executive committee and acquiring naming rights to the team’s practise facility. He began working with American entrepreneur Brent Hocking in 2016. In Canada, it finally set sales records.

Drake grew up in two different Toronto neighbourhoods. He played minor hockey with the Weston Red Wings on Weston Road in the city’s working-class west end until he was in sixth grade.  In the year 2000, he relocated to Forest Hill, one of the city’s more affluent neighbourhoods. “[We had] a half-house we could live in,” Drake said when asked about the move. We had the bottom half while the others had the top part.  Later, in the city’s multicultural Oakwood–Vaughan neighbourhood, he attended Vaughan Road Academy. Drake regarded the school as “not by any means the easiest school to attend to” because of the neighborhood’s impoverished status.  Drake is a man of many talents.

Drake has also dabbled in fashion design, the most noteworthy of which is a Nike sub-label collaboration, as well as other business initiatives. Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 24, 1986. Dennis Graham, his father, is African-American and a devout Catholic from Memphis, Tennessee, who worked as a drummer with country singer Jerry Lee Lewis.  Sandra “Sandi” Graham (née Sher), his mother, is an Ashkenazi Jewish Canadian who has worked as an English teacher and a florist. Dennis Graham performed at Club Bluenote in Toronto, where he met Sandra Sher.


Drake is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, having received American citizenship through his father. He attended a Jewish day school and had a bar mitzvah when he was younger. When Rake was five years old, his parents split. Graham remained in the United States until Drake was a young adult due to financial constraints and legal concerns.
