Timothy Alan Dick was born on June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, to Gerald and Martha Dick. His father worked as a real estate agent, and his mother as a volunteer. Allen adored his father and recalls him as having a terrific sense of humour.
Allen’s father died in a vehicle accident when he was 11 years old, leaving him sad. His mother married her best friend two years after his father died. He and his family were forced to relocate to Birmingham, Michigan.He attended Birmingham’s ‘Ernest W. Seaholm High School.’ It was here that he first began to explore his interest in acting. He then transferred to ‘Western Michigan University’ after attending ‘Central Michigan University.’
