Suga Wiki/Bio

Suga was born in Daegu, South Korea, on March 9, 1993. He went to Taejeon Elementary School, Gwaneum Middle School, and Apgujeong High School as the younger of two sons. Since hearing Stony Skunk’s “Ragga Muffin,” he became interested in rap, claiming that it was unlike something he had ever heard before.

He started writing music lyrics at the age of 13 and learnt about MIDI. At the age of 17, he had a part-time job at a recording studio.

Min Yoon-gi is not married. He has long been a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ culture. He has struggled with depression and has spoken out about it. Yoon-gi also has a charitable side of him. If he ever becomes a famous rapper, he vowed to buy meat for his fans. Yoon-fan gi’s base, the ‘Army,’ donated beef to 39 orphanages on his 25th birthday.

Min Yoon-gi began his career as a member of the hip-hop collective D-Town as an underground rapper. For his performances, he went by the stage name “Gloss.” This was the literal English version of his name. He published the song ‘518-062,’ in commemoration of the ‘Gwangju Uprising,’ in 2010 while collaborating with ‘D-Town.’ He also appeared in Jo Kwon’s music video “I’m The One” as a dancer.

He made his debut in the South Korean boy band ‘BTS,’ in 2013. Big Hit Entertainment, an entertainment corporation, founded the band. For ‘BTS,’ Yoon-gi adopted the stage name “Suga.” The first two syllables of the word “shooting guard” were used to create the name.

Yoon-gi is a basketball fanatic who used to play as a shooting guard in high school. The band made their debut in June 2013 with the song “No More Dream,” which was taken from their debut album, “2 Cool 4 Skool.” For ‘BTS,’ Yoon-gi wrote a variety of songs.

‘BTS’ released two albums in 2014: ‘Wake Up,’ a Japanese album, and ‘Dark & Wild,’ a South Korean album. Yoon-gi wrote several hit songs for BTS, including “Jump,” “Tomorrow,” and “Want.” He wrote songs for their top-selling singles, “Wings” and “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1.” His songs were well-received, and they helped ‘BTS’ achieve enormous popularity. The band played at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, among other activities.

Min Yoon-gi began his solo career in 2016, releasing his first mixtape on SoundCloud under the moniker “Agust D.” He came up with the alias by reversing the letters DT and Suga. ‘Fuse TV’ named it one of the top 20 mixtapes of the year.

Yoon-gi wrote the song “Wine” for singer Suran in 2017. This song was a huge success with Korea’s teens.
Yoon-gi reissued his mixtape for digital purchasing and download in February 2018. The album’s popularity skyrocketed after its reissue. It debuted at number three on the Billboard World Albums Chart and seventh on the Heatseekers Albums Chart. It also reached number 74 on Billboard’s “Top Album Sales Chart.” Yoon-solo gi’s album, titled “Agust D,” charted at number 46 on the “Emerging Artists” chart. Min Yoon-gi is the owner of more than 60 songs in his name.
