They’ve averaged 250,000+ fans every season since moving to Citibank Ballpark.

Contrary to popular belief, the Midland RockHounds logo has no visual resemblance to the logo of its parent organisation, the Rockies. Rocky RockHound, one of the club’s three mascots, appears on the logo. A bat and a stylised white baseball with black seams are held by the brown dog. In the foreground, a custom sans-serif typeface spelling out “RockHounds” can be made out. A blue ring encircles the design.
Rocky RockHound appears between the letters “R” and “H” on a dark blue background in one of the secondary logos. Rocky is depicted on a black background with a “M” in the foreground. The only difference between the wordmark and the major logo is the colour scheme.
According to assistant general manager Jeff VonHolle, “we think now is the appropriate time to modernise RockHounds’ marks by freshening up the emblems to today’s industry standards. While retaining the essence of the primary logo we’ve used since the late 1990s, the new primary logo has a more professional appearance.
Midland RockHounds Biography/Wiki
With the new logo design, the team emphasized its connection to the oil sector in the area by including a bat on the shoulder of Rocky the RockHound as a major tool for a rockhound. Additionally, the state of Texas is represented by an oil drop-shaped dog tag at the base of the logo.
It was also revealed that a second Rocky design, this one with the mascot dressed in overalls and boots, as well as an M logo created by two rock hammers were among the backup logos for the RockHounds.
‘The new secondary logos do a tremendous job of portraying not just the RockHounds brand, but also the oil business, economy, and the industrious nature of the people of West Texas,’ added VonHolle. Ultimately, these logos tell the tale of the RockHounds. ”
It will be another year until the RockHounds’ uniforms and pants are revealed, as they debuted two new caps on Wednesday. A special 50th-anniversary logo will be unveiled at a later date. Torch Creative, a Dallas-based design firm, created the new logo. On April 8, the RockHounds take on the Amarillo Sod Poodles in their season opener. April 12 will be the home opener for the Corpus Christi Hooks.
