Master P Wiki/Bio

Master P was given the name Percy Miller when he was born in 1974 in New Orleans. After his parents’ divorce, he split his time between the houses of his grandmother in New Orleans and his mother in Richmond, California, where he was raised. During his adolescence, he remained on the periphery of the drug and hustling cultures, but he continued to pursue his passion for basketball. He was awarded a sports scholarship to the University of Houston, but he dropped out and relocated to Richmond, where he attended Oakland’s Merritt Junior College to pursue a degree in business administration. In the late 1980s, his grandfather passed away and left him a bequest of ten thousand dollars, which Master P used to start No Limit Records. Originally, No Limit was a physical store rather than a label.

While working at No Limit, Master P discovered that there was a rap audience out there who enjoyed funky, street-level sounds that the major labels weren’t supplying at the time. In 1990, he decided to develop No Limit Records into a record label, based on his previous experience. The next year, he made his recording debut with Get Away Clean, and a year later, he scored an underground hit with The Ghettos Are Trying to Kill Me! Around the same time, the compilation West Coast Bad Boyz, which featured rappers Rappin’ 4-Tay and E-40 before they were well-known, was released and remained on the charts for more than half a year before being taken off. These final two albums were big underground hits, confirming what Master P had assumed all along: that there was an audience for straight-ahead, unabashed, funky hardcore rap was indeed there. No Limit was shortly relocated to New Orleans, where he began focused solely on the production of records.

In fact, there were approximately ten of them per year, all of which were masterminded by Master P and Beats by the Pound, and all of which were executed flawlessly. They created the sound by ripping off tunes from current pop singles, which they did on several occasions. It was they who developed album covers that had the brightly coloured, frantic appearance of straight-to-video exploitation flicks. And they worked quickly, producing and distributing full albums in as little as two weeks in some cases. Master P’s own albums were scheduled to be released as part of that production timetable. The film 99 Ways to Die was released in 1995, while the animated film Ice Cream Man followed the following year.

The No Limit label had become a mini-empire by the time Ghetto D was launched in the late summer of 1997, thanks to the efforts of Master P. Ghetto D would go platinum with the track “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!,” which featured P’s trademark groan. Tru — the group he founded with his younger siblings Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder — would have Top Ten R&B hit records with their debut album. Because of his success in the music industry, he was motivated to direct I’m Bout It, an autobiographical comedy-drama film themed after Tru’s breakthrough hit song. After failing to find a distributor for the film, Master P decided to release it on video in the summer of 1997, which he funded himself.

Throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s, P continued to release new songs on a regular basis while also embarking on a number of business and entertainment endeavours of his own. Over the course of several years, he co-starred in the sitcom Romeo! with his son Romeo Miller and invested in a variety of businesses, ranging from a travel agency to a toy manufacturer. The publication of albums like 2005’s Ghetto Bill and 2013’s The Gift were separated by several years, indicating that the band’s musical output had slowed. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, Master P was the topic of No Limit Chronicles, a multi-part documentary series broadcast on the BET network that chronicled his ascent to celebrity. In conjunction with the debut of the series, Master P released a new mixtape titled No Limit Chronicles: The Lost Tape, which featured new songs by the artist.

Percy Miller, widely known by his stage name “Master P,” was born on April 29, 1970, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. While growing up in the Calliope Housing Projects amid poverty, he was driven and determined to achieve his ambitions and desires, which ultimately led to his becoming a successful entrepreneur. In his time as a student-athlete at the University of Houston, he majored in Business Communications before relocating to Richmond, California, where he started his first small business, an independent record store named No Limit Records. Within a few years, he transformed it into a record label, which grew to become one of the most recognisable names in the music industry. As a music entrepreneur, he expanded his interests into the fields of television, film, acting, producing, sports, clothes, and real estate, among others.

Master P, The Entertainer is a fictional character created by author Stephen King in the 1990s. Master P began his musical career with his two brothers, Corey Miller and Vyshonn Miller, as part of a rap group named TRU. In addition, they struck a brief distribution agreement with In-A-Minute Records, which published their self-titled debut album. Given his knowledge of the retail industry, he founded his own record label, No Limit Records, which gained him the reputation of being a marketing genius for the glitzy gold and diamond album covers that enticed customers to purchase his merchandise. After selling millions of records, he made the decision to sign a straight pressing and distribution agreement with Priority Records in 1995, establishing his firm, No Limit Records.

Throughout the late ’90s, Master P built a hip-hop empire while remaining mostly unnoticed by the general public and the media. No Limit Records, where he served as the company’s CEO, was home to a group of prolific artists who helped to reinvent rap music with inventive production and lyrics drawn straight from real-life experiences on some of America’s toughest streets.
