Ontario-native Short intended to go into social work after college, but his talent as an actor paid off and he landed his first break in an off-Broadway production. After that, he worked largely in television and radio before relocating to New York City as an actor-comedian. He became well-known as a cast member of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ appearing in several episodes, before moving to the United States.
