Kirk Cousins Wiki/Bio
Kirk Cousins was born on August 19, 1988, in Barrington, Illinois. He attended Holland Christian High School in Holland, Michigan, where he was a member of the Maroons’ football, baseball, and basketball teams. He is the youngest of three siblings. In his junior year, he injured his ankle and was forced to attend camps in order to leave a strong impact on recruiting schools. Cousins threw for 3,204 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions during his high school football career.
He was expected to sign with Toledo or Western Michigan after high school when Mark Dantonio was elected Michigan State’s head coach in 2007. After failing to sign his top quarterback priorities, Dantonio gave Cousins a scholarship, which he declined. He also took part in the sports ministry Athletes in Training.
Kick married Julie Hampton in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 28, 2014. Cousins and his partner have two sons as of 2019. Career
Kick Cousins was a redshirt freshman in 2007. He spent the 2008 season as Brian Hoyer’s backup quarterback. He completed five passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in five games. In 2009, he faced off against teammate Keith Nichol for the starting quarterback spot, which he took. With 19 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and 2,680 passing yards in 12 games, he led Michigan State to a 6–7 season. In 2010, he led Michigan State to a share of the Big Ten Championship with an 11–2 (7–1) record.
The Spartans finished 11–3 (7–2) in 2011 and competed in the first-ever Big Ten title game. Cousins was selected to the coaches’ Second Team All-Big Ten, and he played his last game as a Michigan State Spartan in the Outback Bowl on January 2, 2012, beating the Georgia Bulldogs. Over the in-state foe Michigan Wolverines, his squads went unbeaten 4–0. Cousins received the Lowes Senior CLASS Award in 2011. Cousins was a kinesiology major.
