Jorma Ludwik Kaukonen, Jr. is a well-known blues, folk, and rock guitarist from the United States. He was born on December 23, 1940. In addition to his work with Jefferson Airplane, Jorma Kaukonen is now performing on tour with Hot Tuna, a band that he co-founded with bassist Jack Casady as a side project and which, as of the beginning of 2019, is celebrating its half-century anniversary.
On Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, he was placed at position number 54.
