Brock Lesnar Wiki/Bio

Brock Edward Lesnar (born July 12, 1977) is a retired professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, and professional football player most known for his stint in the WWE and UFC.

In 2000, Lesnar joined with WWE (then the World Wrestling Federation) following a successful amateur wrestling career at Bismarck State College and the University of Minnesota. He was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he and Shelton Benjamin were three-time OVW Southern Tag Team Champions. Lesnar made his main roster debut in 2002, and five months later, at the age of 25, he won the WWE Championship, becoming the title’s youngest champion ever. Lesnar departed WWE and pursued a career in the National Football League after losing his championship to Eddie Guerrero at No Way Out in 2004 and his match with Goldberg at WrestleMania XX (NFL).

He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive tackle, but he was released before the season began. Lesnar returned to pro wrestling in 2005, signing with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in his debut bout. He also wrestled as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion in the Inoki Genome Federation following a contractual conflict with NJPW (IGF).

Lesnar began his mixed martial arts (MMA) career in 2006, signing with Hero’s and winning his first fight in June 2007 against Min-Soo Kim. In October of the following year, he joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Lesnar was defeated by Heath Herring in his UFC debut after losing to Frank Mir in his first bout. Lesnar won the UFC Heavyweight Championship by defeating Randy Couture in November 2008.

Lesnar was forced to retire due to diverticulitis after a successful championship defence in a rematch against Mir. At UFC 116, he defeated Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin to unify the heavyweight titles, becoming him the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion. After that, at UFC 121, Lesnar lost the title to Cain Velasquez. He was sidelined again in 2011 due to diverticulitis, and on May 28, he had surgery. After losing to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in December, Lesnar announced his retirement from MMA. Lesnar was a box business sensation in the UFC, appearing in some of the company’s most popular pay-per-view events, such as UFC 100 and UFC 116.

Lesnar made his WWF television debut as a heel on Raw on March 18, 2002, when he attacked Al Snow, Maven, and Spike Dudley during their WWF Hardcore Championship battle, accompanied by Paul Heyman, who was seen giving Lesnar orders. Lesnar was assigned to the Raw brand when the brand extension was first implemented in the WWF. Heyman was later revealed to be Lesnar’s agent, and the nickname “The Next Big Thing” was bestowed upon him.

Lesnar’s first feud was with The Hardy Boyz, and at Backlash on April 21, his first official broadcast fight, he defeated Jeff Hardy by knockout when Hardy was unable to respond to referee Theodore Long. Lesnar faced Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, the following night on Raw, and defeated him in a same manner. Lesnar and Shawn Stasiak were defeated by The Hardy Boyz on May 4 at Insurrextion, but after the match, Lesnar attacked all of the competitors. Lesnar and Heyman defeated The Hardy Boyz on May 19th on Judgment Day.

Lesnar’s meteoric climb to the top of the WWE in 2002 sparked a feud with The Undertaker, culminating in a match on September 22 at Unforgiven. Lesnar retained his championship as the match ended in a double disqualification. Lesnar fought The Undertaker in another Hell in a Cell bout at No Mercy.

The Undertaker’s hand was broken with a propane tank in the narrative leading up to the match. Despite Heyman’s pleas to McMahon not to let The Undertaker use his cast as a weapon, McMahon refused, and the match proceeded as planned. Lesnar retained the championship at No Mercy by defeating The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, concluding their feud. Lesnar would go on to retain the WWE Championship against Edge in a handicap match alongside Heyman on October 26 at Rebellion.

In September, Lesnar made his return at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, interrupting a Hell in a Cell match between defending Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman by kicking in the door and attacking both men, making the match a no-contest and costing Strowman his Money in the Bank cash-in match.

Acting General Manager Baron Corbin announced the following night on Raw that Reigns would defend the Universal Championship against Lesnar and Strowman in a triple threat match at Crown Jewel on November 2. The match was altered to a singles bout between Lesnar and Strowman for the empty title when Reigns vacated his title due to a real leukaemia relapse. Because of a pre-match attack from Baron Corbin, Lesnar defeated Strowman in three minutes at Crown Jewel, becoming the first two-time Universal Champion.

Over the next two years, he got better at wrestling. In 2002, he won the “King of the Ring” tournament after defeating well-known wrestlers like Bubba Ray Dudley and Rob Van Dam, and he did it by beating them. As soon as The Rock was knocked out, the title went to him as the youngest WWE champion at age 25.

In 2004, he put his wrestling career on hold so that he could work in the “National Football League.” Even though he hadn’t played football since high school and had been hurt, he played for the ‘Minnesota Vikings’ in several preseason games. Afterwards, Lesnar held on to the title for more than 500 days, making it one of the longest reigns of a world champion in the modern era. It took him 504 days to lose the title to Roman Reigns at “Summer Slam.” In 2018, after defeating Braun Strowman, he regained the title.

He lost the ‘Universal Championship’ title to Seth Rollins at ‘WrestleMania 35,’ but he kept the title. He then went on to win the “Money in the Bank Ladder Match,” which means that he will get a chance to win the title. He was able to make good on his promise to win his third “Universal Championship” against Seth Rollins at “Extreme Rules” in July 2019. Many championships Brock Lesnar has won have been at the end of his life.

He has won the ‘WWE Championship,’ the ‘WWE Universal Championship,’ the ‘King of the Ring,’ the ‘IWGP Heavyweight Championship,’ and the ‘OVW Southern Tag Team Championship’ over the course of his career.
