Tanya Maniktala was born in New Delhi in the year 1997. She belongs to a family of North Indians. The name of her father is Mr. Maniktala, who is a private sector employee in New Delhi, and the name of her mother is Mrs. Maniktala, a housewife. Her brother is Abhijeet Maniktala, and her sister is Sanya Maniktala.
To obtain her degree in English Literature, she attended Shivaji College at Delhi University. In BBC Television’s adaptation of Vikram Seth’s book, A Suitable Child, she stars as Lata Mehra. She also featured in the Indian online series Flames as Ishita.
She was studying at Janakpuri St. Francis De Sales College. She became involved in acting at Shivaji College while an undergraduate, from which she graduated in 2018 with a degree in English literature. When she was approached by a friend to audition for a new production, she was working as an advertising copywriter, unaware that the show involved was A Suitable Child. It’s just her second appearance on-screen.

In 2019, she starred in the sequel to the ‘Flames’ web series. In the same year, she was roped in for the BBC TV adaptation of Vikram Seth’s novel ‘A Fitting Child’ by Mira Nair, starring Tabu and Ishaan Khatter as well.
