Shaquille O Neal Wiki/Bio

Shaquille O’Neal was born in the United States on March 6, 1972, to Lucille O’Neal and Joe Toney in the city of Newark, New Jersey. He is the son of Lucille O’Neal and Joe Toney. In order to avoid being jailed for drug possession while Shaquille was still an infant, Toney O’Neal’s father agreed to relinquish his parental rights to O’Neal’s stepfather, Phillip A Harrison, an Army sergeant.

He received his high school diploma from Robert G. Cole High School in San Antonio, Texas, and then went on to study business at Louisiana State University. Through his basketball abilities, he was recognised as the ‘College Player of the Year’ during his time at the university level. In 1992, he dropped out of college in order to pursue a professional basketball career.

The Orlando Magic selected Shaquille O’ Neal in the first round of the 1992 NBA Draft. Because of his ability, he was named ‘Player of the Week’ within the first week of his debut, making him the only player in the history of the league to receive this honour within a week of making his debut. Averaging 23.4 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 56.2 percent from the field, he had a stellar season this year. He went on to win the prestigious ‘1993 NBA Rookie of the Year’ award in the process.

He continued to perform admirably in the years that followed, and he was selected to represent the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as a member of the United States Olympic basketball team. The tournament, which took place in Atlanta, Georgia, turned out to be one of his most demanding and challenging tests to date, and he placed second overall. His extraordinary qualities contributed to his squad’s gold-medal victory.

In the year 2000, Shaquille O’Neal was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, an honour he has held since. The Los Angeles Lakers have signed him to a three-year deal worth $88.5 million dollars with the team. The team’s three consecutive world championship triumphs (in 2000, 2001, and 2002) were achieved with his assistance, but his tenure with them was not without its difficulties. In the wake of a series of disagreements with his teammates, he was traded to the Miami Heat.

As a member of the Miami Heat, O’Neal helped the team win the NBA championship in 2006, which was his fourth championship win overall. He has been a member of the Phoenix Suns since February 2008, when he joined the team. He did not play well in his initial games with the team, and O’Neal accepted responsibility for them by saying that he was out of rhythm with the other players.

Later, in June 2009, he signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom he spent the 2009-2010 regular season. During this season, he also achieved the distinction of becoming the oldest NBA player in the league’s history. By this point, his significance as a player had also dropped significantly as well.

The NBA player announced his retirement on social media on June 1, 2011, after a nineteen-year professional career in the sport. Two days later, he held a press conference at his home in Orlando to publicly announce his decision to leave the company.  Shaquille O’Neal began writing rap songs in the year 1993, when he was just a teenager. The following year, he released his debut studio album, titled ‘Shaq Diesel’. With songs such as ‘I’m Outstanding’ and ‘Let me in, Let me in,’ the CD was a huge hit with the public. Despite mainly negative reviews, it debuted at number 25 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week of release. The next year, it was awarded platinum certification.

Career

Shaquille O’Neal, better known by his stage name Shaq, is a former NBA player and rapper from the United States who is most known for his rapping. Despite measuring over 7 feet tall and weighing over 150 kilogrammes, he was one of the heaviest NBA players ever.

While still in his twenties, he entered the NBA and rapidly established himself as one of the most dominant players in NBA history, contributing to his teams’ victories in not just NBA titles, but also Olympic gold medals. A number of accolades were bestowed upon him throughout his professional career, including the ‘NBA Most Valuable Player Award’ and the ‘Finals Most Valuable Player Award.’ O’ Neal eventually decided to retire when he was in his late forties.

A successful basketball player and actor, he has been in films such as ‘Grown Ups 2’ and ‘Blended,’ and on television shows such as ‘Uncle Grandpa’ and “Off to School.” He is also a member of the NBA’s All-Star team. His other passion is hip hop music, and he has published four albums to date, the most recent of which is titled ‘Respect.’ Current television appearances include appearances as an analyst on the popular television show ‘Inside the NBA.’

His third studio album, ‘Shaq Fu: D Return,’ was released in 1994. While not as successful as his prior album, it was a respectable success nonetheless. It peaked at number 67 on the Billboard 200 chart. His third and fourth studio albums, respectively titled ‘You Can’t Stop the Reign’ and ‘Respect,’ were released in 1996 and 1998, respectively. In its first week on the Billboard 200, his third album debuted at number 82, whereas his fourth album debuted at number 58.

He released his fifth studio album under the title ‘Shaquille O’Neal Presents His Superfriends, Vol. 1’. It was originally scheduled to be released in 2001, but it was never released. Shaquille O’Neal’s acting career began with the basketball drama ‘Blue Chips,’ which he starred in in 1994. The film, which also included Nick Nolte, Mary McDonnell, Ed O’Neill, J. T. Walsh, and Alfre Woodard, was directed by William Friedkin and starred a number of other actors.

The film, on the other hand, did not fare well at the box office. The majority of the responses were negative. His first film role was in the American superhero action film ‘Steel,’ which was released in 1997. The film, which was written and directed by Kenneth Johnson and was based on the DC Comics character Steel, was released in 2008. Meanwhile, the picture was a critical and commercial disappointment. The overwhelming bulk of the reviews were negative. Following that, O’Neal appeared in a number of films, including ‘The Wash,’ (2008), ‘The House Bunny,’ (2013), and ‘Blended,’ among others (2014).

The FIBA World Championship MVP (1994), USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year (1994), and NBA Most Valuable Player (1994) have all been awarded to Shaquille O’Neal for his exceptional basketball ability (1994). Shaquille O’Neal tied the knot with Shaunie Nelson in the year 2002.  In addition, he has a daughter from a previous relationship with Arnetta Yarbourgh. In the end, Shaunie and O’Neal decided to separate. He now resides in Orlando, Florida, and has constructed an indoor basketball court for his enjoyment.

Upon graduation from Robert G. Cole HighSchool in San Antonio, Texas, he continued his education at Louisiana State University, where he majored in business administration. In his college years, his basketball abilities earned him the title of “College Player of the Year” for the second time. He dropped out of college in 1992 in order to pursue a professional basketball career in the NBA. While participating in the 1992 NBA draught, the Orlando Magic selected Shaquille O’Neal as their first-round pick.

His abilities won him the title of ‘Player of the Week’ within the first week of his debut, making him the only player in the history of the league to do so within a week of making his debut. During the season, he averaged 23.4 points on 56.2 percent shooting, 13.9 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game, all while shooting 56.2 percent overall. His accomplishments were later recognised by his selection as the ‘1993 NBA Rookie of the Year.’

He continued to perform admirably during the following years, and in 1996, he was picked to represent the United States at the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, as a member of the United States Olympic basketball team. The tournament, which took place in Atlanta, Georgia, turned out to be one of the most difficult and significant tests of his professional life. His incredible abilities helped his team to win the gold medal at the Olympics.

Shaquille O’Neal was awarded the most valuable player in the National Basketball Association in the year 2000. The Los Angeles Lakers signed him to a three-year contract worth $88.5 million dollars, with an option for a fourth year. Despite the fact that he was a key contributor to the team’s three consecutive world championship victories (in 2000, 2001, and 2002), his time with them was not without its difficulties. He had a number of disagreements with team members, which led to his being traded to the Miami Heat.

Later in June 2009, he signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom he spent the 2009-2010 NBA season. During this season, he also achieved the distinction of being the oldest active NBA player in the history of the sport. By this point, his significance as a player had also diminished significantly.

O’Neal announced his retirement from basketball on social media on June 1, 2011, after a career spanning nineteen years on the court. He also held a press conference at his home in Orlando, Florida, two days later, to publicly announce his decision to retire. The winning of the state championship by O’Neal’s high school team in San Antonio, Texas, drew the attention of college recruiters while he was a high school senior.

He went on to play college basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he rapidly established himself as one of the greatest players in the country. In 1991, he was unanimously selected as the National College Player of the Year. O’Neal dropped out of school and entered the 1992 NBA Draft, when he was selected by the Orlando Magic with the first overall choice. In 2000, however, he completed his studies and received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
