Payton Ackerman Wiki/Bio
Payton Ackerman was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 24, 1997, to Greg Ackerman and Leslie Ackerman. She has an older sister, Taylor Ackerman, and a brother, Connor. Payton graduated from Upper St. Clair High School, Pennsylvania in 2015. Payton is a relationship Logan Stork, whom she met while still at college.
With an older sister like Taylor Ackerman, who’s a professional dancer herself, Payton began dancing at a really early age. She was educated and found herself dancing for ‘Reign Dance Productions’. In 2011, the reality TV series,’Dance Moms’ debuted on Lifetime. The barbarous attitude of top teacher Abbey Lee Miller combined with the play and exceptional dancing by young dancers made the series a hit and captured the interest of Payton. She was under the tutelage of Abbey Lee Miller. In 2012, she jumped right in at the opportunity to be a part of this next season of the dance series.
Career
Payton Ackerman became a part of the ‘Abbey Lee Dance Company’ (ALDC) at age 10 and combined ‘Dance Moms’ when she was 14 years old. However, her journey in the series was anything but smooth. Being taller than the rest of the contestants, she was often harshly criticized on camera by Miller. It did not help that her mother got into continuous bickering matches with Miller and physical conflicts with Christi Lukasiak. As a result, the series was edited in such a way that, Payton got portrayed as a spoilt brat, bully, and immature. In fact, she had been friends with a variety of women and that continued even after she left the series.
Close to the end of the season, she had been left from the ‘Dance Moms’ contest team due to her height, regardless of being one of the greatest dancers. This was the final straw for her mother, who determined that Abbey Miller’s treatment of Payton was unfair. She left the series. Because of interference from her mother, Payton’s journey ended even though Miller asked her to return. But, her stint in’Dance Moms’ gave her enough exposure to become a household name.
Payton afterwards returned to’ALDC’ to become a teacher in 2015. In an interview, she explained that her relationship with Abbey wasn’t bad at all and a lot of the drama on the show wasn’t what it seemed like. In actuality, she imputed Miller for instructing her not just to dance, the tricks of the market, but also for being a second mother to her. The next year she had been seen in the brief film’High Hello’. She received critical acclaim for her performance. But, the dancing stays her one true passion and on April 30, 2018, she performed live at Australian singer, Magenta Harley’s live show at ‘The Federal’ in NoHo.
