Paul Stanley Wiki/Bio

He is best known as a longtime member of the heavy metal band Kiss.  He was raised in New York City in a Jewish household and was exposed to a wide range of musical genres from an early age. Both of his parents were big music fans who mainly listened to light classical and pop. Despite the fact that he was born deaf in one ear, Paul was captivated by music from a young age. When he was 7, his parents bought him a toy guitar.

Because of his early admiration for bands like “The Beatles” and “The Rolling Stones,” he acquired his first guitar when he was just 13 years old. He was, however, also passionate about graphic arts. Still, after high school, he decided on music and began performing in local bands. In the early 1970s, he met Gene Simmons and became a member of the band ‘Kiss.’ In 1974, the group issued an album of the same name.

To Jewish parents in Upper Manhattan, New York City’s Paul Stanley was born on January 20, 1952, as Stanley Bert Eisen. Eisen was born in New York City to a Polish father and an English mother who fled Nazi Germany during World War II and settled in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, before moving to New York City.

As the family’s second-born son, Paul had a sibling who was older than him. he couldn’t hear out of his right ear because of an abnormality at birth. Although his parents were avid listeners of Beethoven and other classical composers, he loved listening to music despite this.

Because of his deformed ear, Paul had a hard time determining the direction of sounds. Over the years, he did, however, improve his hearing. When he was 7, he got his first kid’s guitar. ‘The Rolling Stones,’ ‘Jerry Lee Lewis,’ ‘Eddie Cochran,’ and ‘The Beatles’ were among his teen idols.

His family moved to Queens, New York when he was around 8 years old, and he continued to play guitar. When he was 13, his parents saw his enthusiasm for music and bought him a real guitar. As a result, he worked harder on his technique. He aspired to be as good as the musicians in the bands he admired while they were performing live on stage.

And while in New York City at ‘The High School of Music and Art,’ his talent for graphic design blossomed. Despite the fact that he was a very talented budding graphic designer, he chose to pursue a career in music instead. Paul began his musical career by joining a group called ‘Rainbow,’ but soon left to join groups like ‘Uncle Joe,’ and ‘Post War Baby Boom.’ ‘Wicked Lester,’ the band he joined through Gene Simmons, later became ‘Kiss.’ The group got right to work right away. In 1972, they began work on what would become their debut LP. Unfortunately, it was never made available to the public.

Kiss immediately began work on a new album. They soon signed with ‘Casablanca Records,’ and their debut album, ‘Kiss,’ was released. When the album was first released in 1974, it received a mixed reception.

Only 75,000 copies of the album were sold, and not a single from it was a hit. None of the band’s songs made it to the top of the charts. To promote the album, the band undertook a slew of nationwide treks. Eventually, the album’s sales picked up and it sold 500,000 copies in a few years. The ‘RIAA’ later certified the album as “gold.”

The album has been hailed as one of Kiss’s most successful to date. Gene Simmons proclaimed it to be the band’s best work. It was also listed as one of the best glam rock albums of all time by Spin magazine. The band, on the other hand, was well-known for something else: their on-stage charisma. The band members performed with painted faces and outrageous costumes. Over time, ‘Kiss’s elaborate live performances became iconic.

It took them three albums to break out after “Dressed to Kill,” “Destroyer,” and “Rock and Roll Over,” all of which received lukewarm reviews upon release. Only Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley remained in the band throughout the years. When it came to dressing up, Stanley’s “Starchild” look was legendary.

During the late ’70s and early ’80s, the band had a lot of success. After a lineup change in 1983, the band members stopped wearing make-up and eccentric costumes. The band’s “unmasked” phase lasted for over a decade.

“Lick it Up,” the band’s most successful album until then, was certified “platinum” by the “RIAA” in 1983 and released by the band. The band’s new fan base grew as a result of the album’s appeal to a younger demographic. Major TV channels like ‘MTV,’ played their music videos by then.

As one of the most popular mainstream American bands of the 1990s, the original line-fans up’s began clamoring for its reunion. As a result, the band’s original members re-formed. As a result, their elaborate stage outfits and make-up also returned for their live shows.

To date, Kiss has released 24 studio albums and is considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time by many people. They’ve sold over 75 million albums around the world so far. There are 30 “gold” albums in total for the band, including live albums and compilations. They are also the most “gold” certified band ever. The band’s four original members were inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ in 2014, and their legacy lives on.

The band’s members all released solo albums at the same time in 1978. While critical reception to Paul Stanley’s debut album was largely positive, it was a commercial failure. Of all four albums released, it was dubbed “the most Kiss-like” by critics.

Paul began work on a second solo album in the late 1980s, but due to his commitments with ‘Kiss,’ the project was shelved. There were later releases of singles from the album despite this. ‘Live to Win,’ Paul’s second solo album, was released in 2006. His album was released later that year, and to promote it, he went on a nationwide tour. ‘Rock & Brews,’ a restaurant chain founded by Paul, Gene Simmons, and other investors, opened its doors in 2012.

In 1992, Paul Stanley tied the knot with actress Pamela Bowen. Evan Shane Stanley, their son, was born to them. In 2001, the couple separated amicably. Paul married his long-term girlfriend Erin Sutton in 2005, and they went on to have three children together. He had reconstructive surgery on his right ear when he was 30 and later remarked that it was like starting over.

Paul underwent vocal cord surgery in 2011 and is now doing well. He had two hip replacement surgeries just a few years before that. Known for his wailing vocals, high-energy onstage antics, and appeal to female fans, Paul Stanley is the charismatic frontman/lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist/songwriter for the hard rock supergroup KISS. Stanley Eisen, who was born on January 20, 1952, in Queens, New York, has always had a passion for music, and he began playing guitar and writing songs in his early teens.

The two musicians met by chance and went on to form several bands, including “Wicked Lester,” but none of them were commercially successful. A new vision for their “ultimate group” emerged, and Stanley and Simmons enlisted guitarist Ace Frehley as well as drummer Peter Criss to help realize it. Their first three studio albums, Kiss, Hotter Than Hell, and Dressed To Kill, were only moderately successful, but their double live album, Kiss: Alive, was a huge hit. Between 1975 and 1980, KISS was the most popular band in the United States, with all of their albums going platinum and stadiums being sold out.

However, things were not going well within KISS, as Criss and Frehley both left the band in the 1980s and 1983, respectively. Over the next 12 years, the band went through several guitarists and drummers, but an Unplugged (1989) special reunited the band’s original four members in 1995, sparking considerable interest from promoters. As a result, the band’s original four members went on the highest-grossing tour of 1996/97, “Kiss: Alive Worldwide,” and continued touring nonstop for the next four years.

His body had taken a beating from all of the wild leaps, swirls, and prancing he’d done over the years, so in early 2005 he had hip replacement surgery. He should be fine after that, too. Despite the fact that many people disagree, Simmons and Stanley can proudly compare in terms of longevity and artistic output to other important popular songwriting duos like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards or John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

In the corny Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978), he played his “Starchild” alter ego, and in The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, he played himself (1988)

For road trips, a soup lunch followed by candy for dinner is the most effective meal plan. By the time the show begins, you’ve lost all of your excess weight because of it.

We were on the verge of acting out parts because it was no longer who we were. The kiss was never going to be a Broadway show because we value our fans and ourselves too much. There was no fashion statement being made with the makeup; rather, it was an expression of the wearers’ personalities. When I looked back, I realized we were clinging to something that didn’t represent who we were at the time. We had to determine whether or not we were a legitimate band or merely a group of guys in stage makeup. Since we were all wearing white faces and platform boots, I decided it was time to part ways. We had to do away with the makeup in order to be more effective as a band. [Explaining the decision by Kiss in 1983 to do away with their stage makeup]

Don’t take advice from others. Given that advice is always tainted by the person giving it, what worked for me may not necessarily work for someone else. Everything else will fall into place if you just trust your instincts and go with your gut.

Many times, you’ll be told to do something you’re not capable of doing. The majority of the time, this is the result of their own inadequacies. My success has nothing to do with following the advice of others. In other words, go with what you feel and not what you think you should. In order to respect the makeup and our fans on Lick It Up, we decided to remove our make-up before performing.
