He is best known as a longtime member of the heavy metal band Kiss. He was raised in New York City in a Jewish household and was exposed to a wide range of musical genres from an early age. Both of his parents were big music fans who mainly listened to light classical and pop. Despite the fact that he was born deaf in one ear, Paul was captivated by music from a young age.
