Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch, better known by her stage name Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch, is a Grammy Award-winning pop-rock musician who rose to prominence with her debut album ‘The Spirit Room,’ which included the hit track ‘Everywhere.’ Having been introduced to The Beatles while still in the womb because her mother is a huge music fan, she has grown up listening to their songs.

Her passion for music was so strong that she even began composing songs as a teenager and performing in local gigs in and around her hometown as a result.

Among the artists she grew up listening to were The Beatles’ music as well as Jewel and Fleetwood Mac, whom she considers to be her musical idols. She even self-produced an album of music she wrote during her adolescent years, which is available on iTunes.

Her dedication and perseverance were rewarded when she was offered the opportunity to sign a recording contract with Maverick Records. Her first studio album, ‘The Spirit Room,’ was published when she was just 18 years old, marking her professional debut. The album was a huge commercial success, earning it double-platinum certification.

She has also made guest appearances on a number of television series as a well-known musical artist. Branch tied the knot with her bassist Teddy Landau (b. 1964) in Mexico on May 23, 2004, and gave birth to a daughter in August of that year. Branch and Landau split in 2014, and their divorce was finally formalized in November of that year.

Branch met Patrick Carney of the Black Keys at a Grammy party in 2015, and the two became romantically involved while working on the film Hopeless Romantic in 2016. In August of this year, they welcomed a boy into the world. Michelle began taking singing lessons with Gina Bettum shortly after, and a year after learning to play the guitar on her own, she began taking lessons with Ms. Bettum’s husband, Gary, when she was 15 years old. She quickly stopped taking lessons with him after she discovered that she was constantly being technical rather than going with the flow.
