Mahesh Babu Wiki/Bio
Mahesh Babu was born in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, on 9 August 1975. He is the fourth of five children, after Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu, Padmavathi, and Manjula Swaroop, and before Priyadarshini, of the Telugu actors Krishna and Indira. Under the care of his maternal grandmother, Durgamma, and the rest of his family, his childhood was spent mostly in Madras. Ramesh Babu used to look after the academic performance of Mahesh Babu since Krishna was busy with his film commitments. Babu used to play cricket regularly at the VGP Golden Beach in Madras along with his siblings. Krishna used to make sure that the shooting of his films would take place at the VGP Universal Kingdom during the weekends, to spend time with him.
He was educated at the Anglo Indian Higher School in St. Bede, Chennai, where Karthi was his schoolmate. In an interview, Babu said that he and actor Vijay were close friends for a long time and studied at the same college before establishing themselves in their respective film industries. Babu was a student who was above average. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai, with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. He met with Director L after graduating. Satyanand for further training in acting in Vishakhapatnam, which lasted for three to four months.
Babu began dating Namrata Shirodkar, his co-star. They decided to get married after being in a relationship for four years, and Manjula convinced Krishna to support their decision. They were married during the shooting of Athadu on February 10, 2005, at the Marriott Hotel, Mumbai. On 31 August 2006, at the Global Hospital in Hyderabad, the couple welcomed their first child, a boy. The boy, named Gautham Krishna, was a premature baby and, during his birth, was in critical condition. After the doctors treated him on time, his condition became stable. Namrata gave birth to a girl whom they named Sitara on 20 July 2012.

Mahesh Babu has appeared in over 25 films, including eight Nandi Awards, five Filmfare Awards, three CineMAA Awards, three South Indian International Movie Awards, and one International Indian Film Academy Award, and has won several awards. The younger son of veteran Telugu actor Krishna, Babu made his debut at the age of four as a child artist in a cameo role in Needa (1979), and acted as a child artist in eight other films. With Rajakumarudu (1999), which won him the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut, he made his debut as a leading actor. With the supernatural drama Murari (2001), and the action film Okkadu, Babu achieved his breakthrough (2003). He has also appeared in other commercially successful films, such as Athadu (2005), Pokiri (2006), Dookudu (2011), Businessman (2012), Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013), Nenokkadine (2014), Srimanthudu (2015), Bharat Ane Nenu (2018), Maharshi (2019) and Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020). While Sarileru Neekevvaru, his biggest grosser, collected over 2.6 billion at the box office, Pokiri held the record of being the highest-grossing Telugu film.
Referred to as the Prince of Tollywood in the media, he is one of Telugu cinema’s most popular and influential actors and is described by his fans as the superstar of Telugu cinema. He is a humanitarian and philanthropist, in addition to being an actor – he runs a charitable trust and non-profit organization, Heal-a-Child. As their ambassador of goodwill, he is also associated with Rainbow Hospitals.
