Machine Gun Kelly Wiki/Bio
Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gin Kelly (MGK), was born on April 22, 1990, in Houston, Texas, to missionary parents. Kelly’s family moved all over the world, and he spent his childhood in places like Egypt, Germany, and the United States.
Tragic events occurred early in his life, when his mother left the house. As if this wasn’t enough, his father was depressed and unemployed. Richard Colson Baker’s friends and neighbours mocked him. He began listening to rap music to find solace.He attended Hamilton Middle School and then Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver. He experimented with drugs in high school. During this time, he also recorded his first amateur demo tape, ‘Stamp of Approval.’
Colson Baker later enrolled at Shaker Heights High School. This is where my musical career began. He persuaded the owner of a local t-shirt shop to double as his MC Manager. Due to his rapid fire delivery, Baker earned the stage name Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) from his fans during this time, a moniker that stuck with him for the rest of his life. Machine Gun Kelly released the mixtape ‘Stamp of Approval’ in 2006. The response was overwhelming, and it helped MGK establish a reputation as a performer and artist. He began performing in Cleveland-area venues.
His first big break came in 2009, when he won the Apollo Theatre for the first time as a rapper. He rose to national prominence after appearing on MTV2’s Sucker Free Freestyle, where he free-styled numerous verses from his “Chip off the Block” single.
He released his second mixtape, ‘100 Words and Running,’ in February 2010, from which he derived his catchphrase, ‘Lace Up,’ which began as a mixtape interlude before becoming a prominent reference in his music. MGK also worked at Chipotle to supplement his income.
MGK made his national debut in May 2010 with the single ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ The song was released on iTunes by Block Starz Music. It received widespread acclaim, and MGK was named Best Midwest Artist at the 2010 Underground Music Awards.
MGK released his second mixtape, titled ‘Lace Up,’ in November 2010. It included the local anthem ‘Cleveland.’ Following that, he appeared on Juicy J’s track ‘Inhale,’ which featured Steve-O from the television show Jackass in the music video.

Career
In February 2013, MGK released the music video for “Champions,” which featured Diddy and sampled The Diplomats’ “We Are the Champions.” The music video served as a promotion for his upcoming mixtape ‘Black Flag,’ which was released on June 26, 2013. French Montana, Kellin Quinn, Dub-O, Sean McGee, and Tezo made appearances. MGK released the song ‘Till I Die,’ which was accompanied by a music video, on his VEVO account on January 5, 2015.
