Linda Eder Wiki/Bio

A US singer and actress, Linda Eder. She had a Broadway debut at the Jekyll & Hyde show and was named Lucy Harris for the Drama Desk Award. Eder has played throughout the country in concert halls including Carnegie Hall and the musical hall of Radio City. Her 18th solo album was published in 2018. Eder, born on 3 February 1961, grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota in Tucson, Arizona.

She was exposed to music in her early age by her parents, Georg (Austria) and Laila (Norway). Her inspiration for her youth is Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Eileen Farrell. Eder names Garland as its biggest influence, in particular. Her first credit for musical theatre was to become the Mother Abbess for the Sound of Music high school play. Eder was Miss Minnesota Pageant’s fourth runner up in 1980.

Eder was singing and acting at Harrah’s Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey before her work on Broadway. She won the Star Search talent event in 1988, where she recorded Frank Wildhorn’s performance. She joined with the RCA Records. In 1991 she performed Wilhelms Svengali’s musical (World Premiere 1990 and National Tour 1995-96), Jekyll & Hyde’s Broadway production in 1997 and Camille Claudel’s World Premiere in 2003. Eder made a number of CDs on the Angel and the Atlantic records throughout those years.

In 1987, when she auditioned for Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde before Frank Wildhorn of the musical Theater, Eder began her big theatrical career. She was quickly casted, very impressed with her vocal skills, despite there were no plans at that moment for production. The Alley Theater in House was the host of the first musical to be performed by Jekyll & Hyde in 1990.After these two successful runs, Eder’s headline was Lucy, with an anticipated Broadway rise in the spring of 1996, went across the nation from autumn 1995 to spring 1996 But the show was postponed. The new creative team members joined finally the following March 1997.Also in the Palace and in Gershwin theatres, Linda performed vacation concerts on Broadway.

In 1998 Wildhorn and Eder got married and in 2004 divorced, and one son is Jake. For best Broadway debut in Jekyll & Hyde Eder earned the Theater World Award (1996–97). She drew the eye of two speak-show presenters who attended her debut solo concert at the prestigious New York-based Carnegie Hall that night: Rosie O’Donnell and Kathie Lee Gifford.

She then performed with Regis and Kathie Lee and with David Letterman on The Rosie O’Donnell Show and Living. The song “Anythem Can Happen,” composed on the musical Wonderland: Alice’s New Musical Adventure, was invited to Gifford’s last live performance.Eder earned a lot for her performance and the show was prolonged numerous times. After this success, Wildhorn made his musical debut with Svengali, and starred two of his leading musicians: Linda and Chuck Wagner.

The musical finally played in Sarasota, Florida in 1991 at the Asolo Theater. She performed for The Scarlet Pimpernel, as Marguerite St. Just’ leader and for the concept recordings. She was then present at various sessions. She again stood in front of her, Robert Cucciolis and Christiane Noll, in 1995, following several workshops with Jekyll & Hyde. The play was reassembled at Under the Stars Theater in Houston, then moved to the 5th Theater of Seattle Avenue.

Career

In certain tracks from Jekyll and Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and a new work in progress: The Civil War Wildhorn wrote or wrote the most of the stuff, sprinkling with it. Eder and Wildhorn finally got married in 1998 after a long courtship. The following album of Eder, It’s No Secret Anymore, was published in 1999 and again focused largely on Wildhorn material, including the musician’s Havana (another Eder vehicle) work in progress and a lullaby for the newborn couple.

Eder’s first holiday album was released in 2000, Christmas Stays the Same. In 2002, she returned to a less traditional, guitar-built pop pack with Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Boz Scaggs, and Dobie Gray song covers. In 2002, she went back. The record was still dominated by Wildhorn material, including the well-received title tune, which is to be at the heart of the Camille Claudel, a new, infinite music.

“Gold,” a record of the show-type standards backed up from the more modern touches of her predecessor, was released on Eder’s 2003 follow-up album Broadway My Way. For The Other Side of Me, a rock bordered country album of 2008, she has truly changed horses and then swung back into pop-theatrical familiar ground for the 2009 Soundtrack.

In addition to the transfer, Lucy’s first large number, “Bring on the Men,” was dismissed. Eder revealed it was director/choreographer/scenic designer, Robin Phillips, that had been cutting the song, which was not only one of her favorites, but also a favorite fan. Though there were various rumors that it had been cut. But, especially for the acting instruction that he imparted to her, she has given him some louange. Her nomination for the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award was in 1997 and for her debut she was awarded the World Theater Award.

Filbin and Rosie O’Donnell, for instance, thought that Eder had been robbed from his candidacy as a Tony Award, both of which had featured Eder on their shows multiple times, together with Wildhorn and other musicals. On Broadway, Eder was married to Wildhorn and on 30 August 1998 left officially. It replaced Luba Mason. Eder quit Jekyll for a family, but accepted to be cast for his Houston premiere in the restricted run of Wildhorn’s world premier, The Civil War. Eder participated in many seminars and Wildhorn demo recordings.

Above all, she has performed several tracks for his Wonderland: Alice’s New Musical Adventure, which was first released in its first single ten years (“Anything Can Happen”), Havana and Bonnie and Clyde. Their new musical, recently launched by Brandi Burkhardt and now by Laura Osnes, had her worst. A new one, which had been the world premiere of Alice. In Camille Claudel in 2003 was Eder’s second musical appearance. At the Goodspeed Opera House, she played the part.

Although Eder earned mixed reviews in a whole chamber-style show, she received a lot of attention again. It was played in the Musical Theater Festival in New York in 2004. However, the play is still largely produced, but a number of European productions and an eventual Japanese premiere were planned in 2011.Her CD The Other Side of Me is pop/country-like, released on September 30th 2008. This is a deviation from the kind of ballads and standards it is renowned for. Eder says: “My new CD, on the other side, took a year and a half to create, but it’s really been a lifetime. Eder also released in 2011 her first solo Wildhorn album, entitled Now, since 2003.
