Lee Brice Wiki/Bio
Lee Brice (born Kenneth Mobley Brice Jr. on June 10, 1979) is a Curb Records-signed American country music singer and songwriter.Lee Brice had his first number one single after the age of 30, and he has yet to receive a prestigious country music award. Brice began singing and performing at the age of eight, and with ‘Love Like Crazy,’ he broke a 62-year-old record for the longest-running single on the country chart. Lee believes in quality over quantity, and has only released three albums and eleven singles to date.
Lee Brice, the son of Carleen Brice and Kenneth Sr., began playing guitar and piano at a young age. His first performance was in a church, and he had been writing songs since he was a child. While in high school, he also won a number of talent contests. He received a football scholarship to Clemson University and also played as a long snapper, but an arm injury ended his football career, and he began focusing solely on country music. Lee Brice began songwriting in 2007, and co-wrote ‘More Than a Memory,’ which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In 2007, he signed with Curb Records and released singles such as ‘She Ain’t Right,’ ‘Happy Endings,’ and ‘Upper Middle Class White Trash.’
He continued to write songs for others and made an appearance on Boogity. Brice released ‘Love Like Crazy’ in 2009, which stayed on the country music charts for 56 weeks, making it the longest charting single in chart history. ‘Beautiful Every Time’ and ‘Still’ are two other singles. In 2011, he released ‘A Woman Like You,’ which was followed by ‘Hard to Love,’ which became his second number one single on the charts.
Other singles include ‘Love is War,’ ‘Parking Lot Party,’ ‘I Drive Your Truck,’ ‘I Don’t Dance,’ and ‘Drinking Class.’ Despite the fact that he is not an award-winning artist, Lee Brice has amassed a sizable fan base through his unique approach to creating music and performing on stage. Originally destined to be a football player, he has evolved into a heartfelt country music artist.
Lee Brice has made significant contributions to the music industry in addition to having the longest-running single on the country music charts. He has been nominated for a number of awards, including the prestigious ACMA, CMT, ACM, CMA, and Grammy. Brice married his long-term girlfriend, Sara Nanette Reeveley, in 2013. They now have two children, and his wife can be seen in Hard 2 Love’s “See About a Girl.”
Lee Brice is a well-known country music artist in America, not only for his singing and songwriting abilities, but also for his stage presence and ability to play a variety of musical instruments. His high-quality music has helped him achieve international success in the music industry.
Lee Brice may have his first number one single when he is over 30, but he has been doing it since he was eight years old. Brice, who was born on June 10, 1979 in Sumter, South Carolina, learned to play the piano as a child and gave his first public performance in a church.
“I had been playing on my own and had learned a few chords and the general direction of how to play, so I knew how to play with both hands and how to sing while playing the piano. That’s when I realised I was addicted.” Brice tried his hand at songwriting when he was 8 years old, ticking performance off his list. He won several talent contests during his high school years.
Brice, like many teenagers, was passionate about football and attended Clemson University on a football scholarship. When he broke his arm, the long snapper was solely focused on pursuing a music career. His professional career began in Nashville as a songwriter for well-known artists such as Jason Aldean and Garth Brooks. In 2007, he co-wrote “More Than a Memory,” which became Brooks’ No. 1 country single.
Curbs Records agreed to sign Brice and release his debut single “She Ain’t Right” after hearing about him. The song had a modest success, peaking at number 29 on the country chart. A couple of other singles from his debut album, “Picture of Me,” did not make the Top 10, but they were enough to get his name out there. “Picture of Me” was never released, but Brice continued to write songs for other people.
Another solo effort, “Love Like Crazy,” fared better. Brice released the single in August 2009, and it debuted at number 58 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in the United States. The song became popular, peaking at number three and remaining on the charts for a record-breaking 56 weeks. The album, titled after the first single, was released in June 2010 and reached number nine on the country album chart.
After a lengthy tour, the country crooner released his sixth single, “A Woman Like You,” in late 2011. To his surprise, the song charted well and became his first number one country hit. It was also certified gold several months after its release, on April 24, 2012, just a few weeks after the album’s release, “Hard 2 Love.”
