Lance Bass Wiki/Bio

Lance Bass was given the name ‘James Lance Bass’ when he was born in Laurel, Mississippi. He grew up in a conventional Christian environment, which, in his opinion, was nothing more than a wonderful learning experience. “I was not raised in a Christian church to despise other people,” he claims. “I was taught to love and accept everybody,” says the author.

His father, James Irvin Bass, was a junior medical technician and his mother, Diane, was a middle school teacher before they married. Stacey Bass, his older sister, is also a member of the Bass family. When he was nine years old, he had his first live experience of a space shuttle launch in Cape Canaveral, Florida, which sparked his interest in astronomy and space exploration.

It was at this point that he decided to pursue his dream of going into space full-time. He chose engineering in the hopes of realizing his ambition of working for NASA one day. Bass didn’t consider singing to be a passion; rather, it was a recreational activity in which he excelled. He used to be a member of the Baptist church choir.

During his time at Clinton High School, Bass was a member of numerous music groups, including the Mississippi Show Stoppers (a state-wide music group), the Attaché Show Choir group (a national-award-winning choir group), and the Attaché Show Orchestra group (a regional music group).

He has received certification as an astronaut. Star City, Russia, is where he obtained his accreditation as a cosmonaut. From there, he transferred to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, where he continued his training. His cardiac arrhythmia was detected during this time, and he underwent surgery to correct the problem later on.

In the year 2002, he signed a deal with Lena Banks for space flight as part of the Soyuz TMA-1 mission, which took place on October 30, 2002, and was launched into orbit. However, due to a cancellation of funding at the last minute, his dream of visiting space was dashed for the time being.

As part of a People’s Magazine cover story on the 26th of July 2006, Lance Bass made the official announcement of his sexual orientation: “I’m homosexual.” A wedding ceremony for Lance Bass and actor Michael Turchin took place on December 20th, 2014.

As Bass had always wanted to be a father, he and his wife turned to surrogacy to help them become parents, however, they haven’t been successful so far. They’ve experienced nine miscarriages in the past year. To promote his charitable objectives, he established the ‘Lance Bass Foundation’ in 2001, which is still active today. Lance Bass, an American singer, and songwriter is a true all-rounder in every sense of the word.

He is not only a fantastic vocalist, but he is also an actor, producer, NASA-certified astronaut, and author, among other things. In addition, the term “over-achiever” can be used as a prefix to a person’s name. It appears that life had other intentions for him than becoming an astronaut, despite the fact that he took every step in the right direction during his childhood.

Throughout Bass’ life, serendipity played a significant role; he received his first huge break as a result of a phone call with Justin Timberlake during his junior year of high school. Even before he had a chance to absorb what was taking place, he had already been accepted as a member of the boy band NSYNC.

Bass, as an artist, was never one to set boundaries for himself. The actor and producer pursued his childhood dream of becoming a movie or television star while also writing his biography, Out of Sync, and making significant contributions to the LGBTQ community’s emancipation and uplift. In the eyes of young people, Bass is an inspiration, as evidenced by his worldwide fame and large fan base.

Bass received a phone call from Justin Timberlake and his mother, Lynn Harless, in 1995, during his junior year of high school, asking if he would be interested in auditioning for the pop group NSYNC after the group’s original bass singer, Jason Galasso, had left the group. Bass said yes, and the rest is history. Bass was recommended as a replacement by Timberlake’s voice coach (who had worked with Bass during his stint as a Mississippi Show Stopper).

Timberlake accepted Bass’s recommendation. When Bass auditioned in front of the other band members, he was accepted into the group, and he quickly left school to go to Orlando, Florida, to rehearse full-time with the group. In his own words, Bass admits that he had never danced before joining NSYNC and that this made learning most of the group’s choreography tough for him.

A segment of VH1’s Driven depicted how Jan Boltz, the president of BMG’s German business, offered NSYNC a recording contract on the condition that they replace Bass, whose dancing, in Boltz’s opinion, “wasn’t on par with the rest of the group.”

The other members of the group, however, refused to sign the contract without Bass, and the group’s manager, Johnny Wright, persuaded Bolz that Bass’s dancing would swiftly improve if he continued to perform with the group.

Bolz agreed, and the trio quickly relocated to Munich, Germany, to begin recording their first album with BMG Music Publishing. It was in March 2000 that NSYNC launched the single “No Strings Attached,” which went on to become the best-selling single of all time, selling 1.1 million copies on its first day of release.

It was not until 2001 that they released their Celebrity album, which had the group’s second greatest first-week album sales ever, trailing only the group’s previous album in that category. NSYNC went on to sell more than 56 million records worldwide as a result of its success. When the group declared that they would be taking a “hiatus,” Timberlake began to record solo work during that time period, which ended in 2003.

Career

Bass stated in 2007 that he had faith that Timberlake would return to NSYNC after a six-month hiatus to make another album with the group and that he felt betrayed by Timberlake’s 2004 choice to pursue a solo career rather than continue with NSYNC. Bass has also expressed skepticism about the prospect of a reunion with Timberlake, who has ruled out the possibility “expressed his disinterest in talking about another record at this moment.

Even in the face of these claims, Bass has maintained that he has no negative sentiments for Timberlake, stating: “At the moment, it felt like a betrayal on my behalf. I was in a state of heartbreak. All of these feelings ran through my body. Today, I’m quite content, and Justin and I have developed into excellent friends. I have no ill will toward him. And I understand what he was going through, and I’m sure it was just as difficult for him as it was for the rest of us as well.

Richard Bass appeared as a guest performer on the WB drama series 7th Heaven, in which he played Rick Palmer. Bass had his first leading role in a feature film the next year, as NSYNC was in the middle of recording Celebrity. Bass was also a member of the boy band NSYNC. Kevin, played by Bass, is a man who falls in love with a woman on a Chicago train and embarks on a mission to find her again after she disappears.

In addition to Jerry Stiller, Al Green, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, former WWE wrestler Chyna, and Timberlake, Kirkpatrick, and Fatone from Bass’s band, the film was produced by Bass’s production business, A Happy Place (later renamed Bacon & Eggs).

A soundtrack for the film was also produced, which includes previously unreleased songs by NSYNC and Britney Spears, among others. When it came to the film’s theme song, “On the Line,” Bass collaborated with Joey Fatone, Mandy Moore, Christian Burns, and True Vibe (known collectively as “The On The Line Allstars”).

It failed to meet expectations in spite of extensive marketing directed at members of NSYNC’s youthful fan base, generating only US$4.2 million domestically, despite the film’s $10-million budget. Both the film and Bass’s performance were panned by critics, as was his overall performance. When asked about the film’s success subsequently, Bass stated that the release date, which was one week after the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, was a major factor in its failure.

He then starred in Zoolander and Wes Craven’s Cursed as himself, and he also appeared as the wedding singer in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which was released after On the Line. Bass is best known for his voice work in the video game Kingdom Hearts, where he provided the voice of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII. Beginning on August 14, 2007, Bass began a six-month run as Corny Collins in the Broadway musical Hairspray, which coincided with the production’s five-year anniversary on the Broadway stage.

On January 6, 2008, he announced that he will be leaving Hairspray. Bass made an appearance in the film Tropic Thunder, which was released in 2008. Bass appears as a guest star in the Gravity Falls episode “Boyz Crazy” from 2013, in which he is a member of the boy band Several Timez (which is a parody of NSYNC).

A few years ago, Bass appeared as a guest star on an episode of the Comedy Central series Review, in which he traveled to outer space with the show’s main character. Bass competed on season 7 of Dancing with the Stars when he was teamed with swing dance champion Lacey Schwimmer, who won the competition. As part of the competition, Bass and Schwimmer advanced to the finals, where they faced Brooke Burke and Derek Hough, as well as Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. Lance Bass finished in third place, with Burke taking home the championship.

Bass began contributing to The Meredith Vieira Show as a full-time panelist during season two of the show in 2015. During his time as host of Dirty Pop with Lance Bass on OutQ, an LGBT-oriented Sirius XM station, Bass discussed pop culture and entertainment news on a daily basis during the evening drive time. Aside from his hosting duties on Pop2K, Bass was also the host of the weekly “Pop2Kountdown,” which counted down the top 30 songs of the week from a different year in the 2000s.

Bass and his mother fought against other duos on the FOX reality cooking series My Kitchen Rules in 2017, finishing as runner-ups in the competition. Bass indicated that he would be publishing an autobiography as a result of the positive feedback he received following his coming out. The book, titled Out of Sync, was released on October 23, 2007, and is available on Amazon.

Bass now serves on the board of directors of the Environmental Media Association (EMA). He’s also been associated with Animal Avengers, Shannon Elizabeth’s animal rescue group, which he helped start. A PETA advertisement featuring him and his two dogs, both of whom he rescued from rescue shelters, was released to encourage people to adopt rather than buy animals. Bass submitted a guest column for LOGO’s “Visible Vote ’08” blog in August 2007, in which he showed his support for homosexual marriage and other issues. GLAAD television advertising supporting tolerance for the LGBT community was broadcast in September 2007.
