He grew up in the Chicago suburb of Homewood, Illinois. When Juice was three years old, his parents divorced. He was raised by his mother.
Juice received his early education at ‘Homewood-Flossmoor High School.’ Juice was not allowed to listen to hip-hop music because his mother was very religious and conservative. His first introduction to rock music came from video games such as ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ and ‘Guitar Hero.’ Juice began learning to play the piano when he was four years old. He later learned to play the guitar and drums. He was also a member of his band class, where he played the trumpet. Juice was a drug addict as a teenager.

Juice later changed his stage name to ‘Juice WRLD.’ It was a remembrance of the late American rapper Tupac Shakur. Juice saw ‘WRLD’ as a metaphor for taking over the world. Juice released his first project, ‘Juiced Up The EP,’ in January 2016. It included singles like ‘Too Smooth’ and ‘Runnaway Freestyle.’
Juice released the single ‘Too Much Cash’ in 2017. He became a member of the internet collective ‘Internet Money.’ Juice released his first full-length EP, 999, on June 15, 2017. It included his song ‘Lucid Dreams,’ which has received over 2.5 million plays on ‘Soundcloud.’
