Josh Dallas is an actor from the United States. He is best known for his appearances in the ABC television series Once Upon a Time (2011–2018) as Prince Charming/David Nolan and in the NBC drama series Manifest as Ben Stone (2018-2021). After returning to the United States, he was cast as Fandral in Thor in 2011 after Irish actor Stuart Townsend dropped out only days before filming was set to begin. Because Dallas was a relatively unknown actor at the time of his casting, there was conjecture that he was chosen because there was just not enough time to locate a bigger-name alternative. Dallas saw Errol Flynn as an inspiration and watched many of his films in order to prepare for the role (Stan Lee conceived the character based on Flynn in 1965). “I tried to bring out that tiny bit of Flynn-ne,” he said.
