Justin James Watt was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Connie and John Watt on March 22, 1989. His father was a firefighter, and his mother was a vice president of building operations. Derek and TJ Watt, his younger siblings, have also gone on to become professional football players.
He played hockey until he was 13 years old, but then switched his focus to football, giving up hockey to focus on one sport.
