Hugh Jackman Wiki/Bio
Hugh Jackman was born on 12 October 1968 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His parents were English and had migrated as part of the “Ten Pound Poms” immigrant program to Australia in 1967. Thus, by virtue of being born to UK-born parents, Jackman retains British citizenship in addition to his Australian citizenship. Nicholas Isidor Bellas, one of his paternal great-grandparents, was a Greek from the Ottoman Empire.
His parents became devout Christians since their marriage, having been baptized by the Evangelist Billy Graham. Jackman has four older siblings and was the second to be born in Australia to his parents’ daughters. He has a younger half-sister, too, from the remarriage of his mother. When he was eight, his parents divorced, and Jackman lived with his father and two brothers in Australia, while his mother moved back to England with Jackman’s two sisters. Jackman loved the outdoors as a child, spending a lot of time on the beach and on camping trips and school holidays in Australia. He wished to explore the globe, adding, “I used to spend nights looking at atlases. I decided I wanted to be a chef on a plane.
