Fairfield, Alabama is a town in the state of Alabama in the United States. Gordon Douglas Jones (born May 4, 1954) is a former United States Senator from Alabama who served from 2018 to 2021. He was the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 1997 to 2001, and he was a Democrat.
Doug Jones was born on May 24, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to four brothers and grew up on the city’s Northeastside. He went to Ball State University after graduating from Bishop Chatard High School with a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and a minor in Theatre in 1982.
He studied mime at school and worked as a contortionist before joining a troupe and doing the entire white-face thing.
Career
He went to Los Angeles in 1985 after a stint in theatre in Indiana, and hasn’t looked back since. He’s appeared in over 25 films, many television programmes (including the award-winning Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), for which his episode ‘Hush’ received two Emmy nods), and over 90 commercials and music videos with Madonna and Marilyn Manson.
Although he is best recognised for his work in prosthetics, he has also acted as ‘himself’ in critically acclaimed films like Adaptation. (2002) alongside Nicolas Cage and indie films like Phil Donlon’s A Series of Small Things (2005).
But it is his sensitive and exquisite performance as ‘Abe Sapien’ in Hellboy (2004), which blasted to the top of the US box office in the spring of 2004, that has elevated his image and earned him widespread acclaim from both viewers and critics.
