On July 27, 1980, Nicholas Theodore Nemeth was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Brothers Donald and Ryan are professional wrestlers.
As a child, he became enamoured with professional wrestling after attending a match. His first wrestling match came at the age of 12 years old. At St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, he was an amateur wrestler. During his time as head coach, the wrestling team won the National Championships twice.
