Chuck Norris was born on 10 March 1940 to Wilma and Ray Norris in Ryan, Oklahoma, USA. His father was an alcoholic, taking up work as a mechanic and driver. When he was a teenager, his parents split and his father walked out of his life. Then his mother helped raise his younger brothers.

He was at ‘North Torrance High School.’ He was a timid, average student who didn’t think about himself much. In 1958 he began his career as an air police officer in the United States Air Force. He was deployed to ‘Osan Air Base.’ He gained interested in martial arts in South Korea. He started training at Tang Soo Do and got black straps.


Following his return to the US, he resumed serving as an air police officer at the March Air Force Base in California.
