Brandon Sanderson is a novelist from the United States who writes fantasy (middle name Winn). In the year 1975, the month of December saw Brandon Sanderson’s arrival into the world in the Midwestern city of Lincoln, Nebraska. When Brandon was a kid, one of his favorite things to do was read, but he rapidly lost interest in the kinds of books that were recommended to him the most by his family and friends. Now that Brandon is an adult, reading is still one of his favorite things to do. By the time he was in middle school, he refused to even pick up a book if there was any way he could avoid doing so.

When Brandon was in the eighth grade, his observant teacher, Mrs. Reader, gave him a copy of Barbara Hambly’s book Dragonsbane to read. This event served as a defining moment in his life. Because Brandon had such a fantastic time reading this one book, in particular, he decided to look for more novels that were written in a style that was comparable to it. As a consequence of his investigation, he became aware of a number of more authors, some of whom include Melanie Rawn, Anne McCaffrey, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, and Orson Scott Card. Even when he was in junior high school and later when he was in high school, Brandon never stopped being a voracious reader. He was so captivated by the world of epic fantasy that he even tried his hand at writing some of his own. He claims that his past attempts were a terrible waste of time.

Brandon enrolled at Brigham Young University in the 1994 school year with the objective of pursuing a degree in biochemistry as his major there. Due to the fact that he was compelled to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints between the years 1995 and 1997, he was unable to continue his education during that time. Brandon often states that it was during this time in Seoul, Korea, that he came to the revelation that despite the fact that he missed writing, he did not miss chemistry at all. This discovery led Brandon to conclude that he did not miss chemistry at all. This is an allegation that he makes rather often. When Brandon returned to Brigham Young University, he shocked his mother by announcing his plan to major in English rather than in medicine, which she had always expected he would follow as a profession. Brandon’s mother had always assumed that he would become a doctor.

After finding a position as a night desk clerk at a hotel, which enabled him to continue writing even while he was on the job, Brandon started to take his writing profession more seriously. He wrote more than he had in a long time. He worked midnight shifts to make money for his studies, and at the same time, he attended school full-time while also writing as much as he could during this time period. All of this was done in order to finance his education. In spite of his assertion that doing so rendered his social life very dull, he was able to finish seven novels when he was a student. Not only did Brandon get a big number of letters of rejection, but he also distributed a large number of manuscripts in the hopes that one of them would be accepted for publication. In spite of this, he persisted in devoting himself fully to the job that he was doing as a writer.

The Leading Edge is a magazine dedicated to science fiction and fantasy that is published by BYU. Brandon’s time spent working as a volunteer for the publication was quite fun. He read through a lot of entries, made some friends who will remain in his life forever, and even served as the Editor in Chief for the newspaper during his senior year of high school. When Brandon attended a class taught by David Farland, the renowned author of the novel Runelords, he picked up a lot of useful information about the writing industry. Runelords was also written by David Farland, who is credited as the series’ originator.

Dave offered a piece of advice to Brandon that he should go to conferences like WorldCon and World Fantasy in order to network with other people who work in the business. It wasn’t long until a few of Brandon’s other pals, who were also striving to establish successful careers as authors, started doing the same thing. Not only did he finally get to meet one of his editors, but he also met his current agency when he was at conferences. Brandon received a phone call from an editor at Tor who indicated an interest in acquiring one of his books in 2003, while he was still a student in the Ph.D. program at BYU. Tor was interested in purchasing one of Brandon’s novels. Brandon was astonished and thrilled to receive the offer since he had submitted the book over a year and a half ago and had nearly entirely given up hope of hearing anything in response, so he was pleased and stunned at the same time. He was nearly utterly devoid of any hope that he would hear anything at all.

In May of 2005, Brandon was finally able to get his hands on a copy of Elantris, the first of his books to be published. Elantris was a fantasy novel. Following the release of Brandon’s Mistborn trilogy, Tor published a number of novels written by Sanderson. These novels include The Way of Kings, The Rithmatist, Words of Radiance, Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection, Edgedancer, and Oathbringer, and more works by Sanderson are on the way. Brandon’s Mistborn trilogy was published by Tor. When Brandon was an undergraduate student at Brigham Young University, he took a class that was taught by Dave Farland. After earning his master’s degree in creative writing from BYU in 2004, he was invited to teach the same class that Dave Farland had taught him when he was an undergraduate student.

Even though Brandon’s schedule is fairly full, he still finds time to teach students in the subgenres of creative writing known as science fiction writing and fantasy writing. This is due to the fact that he enjoys acting as a guide and mentor to budding writers. In addition to that, he claims that because of it, he is compelled to go outside. The marriage of Brandon Bushman and Emily Bushman took place in July of 2006. Both Emily and I spent our time as students at BYU engaging in many of the same extracurricular activities and groups. This was due to the fact that Emily also majored in English.

In spite of this, they had never really spoken to one another until the year 2005, when a third party who knew both of them arranged a date for them. Emily, who had been a teacher for seven years previous to the birth of their son Joel in October 2007, took the choice to retire at that time. Joel was born in October of that year. Emily now serves as Brandon’s part-time business manager, and she does it from the comfort of her own home. Brandon’s entry into the children’s market was heralded with the publication of the middle-grade novel Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians by Scholastic in October of 2007. This event is considered to be the beginning of Brandon’s growth in the children’s market.

When Nancy Pearl’s extraordinarily positive review of this book was played on National Public Radio, Sanderson readers were ecstatic to hear it since Pearl had given the book five stars. Since the publication of the first edition of Alcatraz, Brandon has found a great deal of fulfillment in traveling to schools and delivering talks to younger readers. Brandon was given the responsibility of completing A Memory of Light, the third and final book in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time trilogy, by Brandon’s wife, Harriet Rigney, in December of 2007. It was made accessible to the general public on January 8th, 2013, when it was first released. Honorable mention was bestowed for Defending Elysium by Writers of the Future at the beginning of 2003 in recognition of the work that it has accomplished.

The October/November 2008 edition of Asimov’s Science Fiction, which was a part of the UPC Science Fiction collection, was the first time it was published in the United States (in Europe). It was Brandon’s very last short tale before he sold the rights to Elantris to Tor Books, and it was the one that ended up winning the UPC science fiction award. It may be read digitally, or it can be purchased in physical form as a book with a hardback binding. Both choices are available.

A chunk of Brandon’s unfinished work “Myth walker,” which was released in 2001, is available for you to read on this website. Brandon used elements of the storyline and issues explored in this novel in his other works, including Warbreaker, Mistborn, and The Way of Kings, amongst others. When it was initially released by Tor Books on April 21st, 2005, Sanderson’s debut book, Elantris, was greeted with the majority of good reviews from reviewers. This occurred when the novel was first published. Elantris centers on the people who formerly lived in a once-great city and had incredible magical power. These people were once in possession of Elantris. These locals have been subjected to a curse. Elantris centers on the people who formerly lived in a once-great city and had incredible magical power. These people were once in possession of Elantris. These locals have been subjected to a curse. A work of short fiction written by Brandon and titled “Elantris: The Hope of Elantris” was released by the author in January 2006. You will be able to read it in an online version on his website in the near future. This was also the year when the first book in the author’s original trilogy set in the Mistborn world, titled Mistborn: The Final Empire was made available for purchase. (The Mistborn are “allowances,” or individuals who have the capacity to “burn” certain metals and alloys in order to heighten their senses and give them control over tremendous supernatural forces after eating such metals and alloys. This ability gives the Mistborn the ability to become Mistborn.) This talent is what enables them to develop into Mistborn in the first place.

Sanderson continued the story in Mistborn: The Well of Ascension, in which he investigated the origins of the enigmatic mist that blanketed everything in this world at night and sometimes even during the day. This mist engulfed everything on this planet and covered it completely. Tor Books released the second installment of the Mistborn series, titled “The Well of Ascension,” in the year 2007. His next piece of work was a book for young readers titled “Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians.” It portrayed the tale of a youngster named Alcatraz who had an amazing ability for destroying things. In the narrative, the evil librarians were the antagonists. In addition to this, he is the leader of a band of wicked librarians who have the goal of imposing their authority over the whole of the planet.

In 2008, Sanderson published a total of four novels, including Firstborn, Defending Elysium, the last installment of the first Mistborn trilogy, which was named Mistborn: The Hero of Ages, and the sequel to Alcatraz, which was titled Alcatraz Versus the Scrivener’s Bones. The original novella “Firstborn” was written for Tor.com and was made accessible to readers in the form of an ebook. The year 2009 saw the debut of Sanderson’s book Warbreaker, which was published by Tor Books.
