Anjana Om Kashyap Wiki/Bio
Anjana Om Kashyap was born on 12 June 1975 in Ranchi town of Jharkhand. Her dad Omprakash Tiwari is a physician by profession and has given short-term solutions to the Indian Army in the Bangladesh War of Independence.
She did her schooling from Loreto Convent School, Ranchi. She aspired to be a doctor and after finishing her schooling, she seemed for a variety of Pre-Medical Entrance Tests. However, she couldn’t crack any of these. Anjana, then, got enrolled herself in Daulat Ram College, Delhi University to pursue honors in Botany. She did her masters in social works from the Delhi School of Social Works. Thereafter, she ready for UPSC examinations but failed to clean them. Finally, she did a diploma course in Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. After completing her Journalism program, she appeared for a variety of interviews and got chosen as a news anchor in Doordarshan.
Anjana is married to Mangesh Kashyap, a 1995 batch IPS officer. Both of them met while studying in Delhi University. Mangesh was the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police and has been working as Chief Vigilance Officer in South Delhi Municipal Corporation since 2016. This couple has a son and a daughter.
Career
Anjana began her journey with Doordarshan News TV station in 2004. At this channel she used to host a TV show named”Ankhon Dekhi”. Within a year, she stopped her first job and joined Zee News. With this station, he gained a great deal of fame in TV media. Between 2004 and 2012 she had been associated with many top news channels of the nation such as Star News, News24, etc.. In 2012, Anjana combined India Today Group’s Aaj Tak news channel. She has been connected to this station for 8 consecutive years. The shows such as Halla Bol, Special Report, Rajtilak and Dilli Ke Dil Mein Kya Hai hosted by her, were well enjoyed.
Anjana Kashyap attracted controversy for providing illogical reasoning over the descendants of Rani Padmavati. It was during a heated conversation with Rohit Sardana over Padmavati who Kashyap passed the announcement that-“the current female descendants of Rani Padmavati themselves talk in English, have contemporary lifestyles, so they barely have any moral right to provide suggestions on the ideal portrayal of Rani Padmavati in the movie,” that was later criticized about the social websites.
Aaj Tak faced a backlash when their anchor Ashok Singhal asked an improper question to the HRD Minister Smriti Irani while she was addressing a speech at the Delhi University. Singhal requested Irani the reason for her being named as the HRD minister by Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite being of a young age and having problems over her degree. The question angered the minister and even the crowd began protesting. The series was being co-anchored by Anjana who came under the controversy for being a mute spectator to the remark.
Following her marriage, her husband, Mangesh Kashyap, was appointed as the CVO of South Delhi Municipal Corporation. It was alleged that he’s achieved that position not due to his ability and seniority but on account of the influence of Anjana.
