Ally Brooke is an American singer and oldest member of the girl’s group ‘Fifth Harmony,’ also known as ‘5H,’ which has come out of ‘The X Factor USA’ as the most successful group. Brooke loved music since she was a child, and when she was at school she began performing at events.
She was determined to follow a career in music and originally auditioned as a solo artist for ‘The X Factor.’ However, after she was eliminated early from the competition, the judges, confident of her ability, gave her a second opportunity to compete in a group. Although she and her fellow band-mates Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello and Normani Kordei were put into a group, they quickly proved that they could be friends and gained the admiration of everybody.
She has worked with stars like Meghan Trainor, Kid Ink, Tyga and Missy Elliott as a member of the group. The group has also received numerous prestigious nominations and awards. After being removed during the bootcamp, the judges and four other girls returned to form the Fifth Harmony group on 27 July 2012. The group passed the semi-finals with Ellie Goulding’s ‘Anything Could Happen,’ a “final performance,” and finished it in the top 3. However, they didn’t get enough votes from the public to advance to the Top 2 on their next performance. Although not the finalists for ‘The X Factor,’ Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid were impressed by their performance by Ally Brooke and her group. The group signed their record labels, Syco Music and Epic Records together on January 17, 2013.
They began their careers after the competition by publishing on YouTube cover versions of the singers such as Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Mikky Ekko, and received love from their original artists. They sang coverings of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Mirrors’ and Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man” for the 2013 EP ‘Cover Cooperations, Volume 2’ on Boyce Avenue.
They released the first EP ‘Better Together’ on October 22, 2013, led by the single ‘Miss Movin’ On.’ On 3 February 2015 ‘Fifth Harmony’ released its debut album ‘Reflection,’ supporting its first headlining tour of ‘Reflection Tour.’ The album was attended by artists such as Meghan Trainor, Kid Ink and Tyga. It peaked on the US ‘Billboard 200’ at number 5 and became the UK’s first top 20 entry.
The band named their second studio album ‘7/27,’ namely the date of creation of “Fifth Harmony.” The album was released on 27 May 2016 and features guest vocals by Missy Elliott, Ty Dolla Sign and Fetty Wap. The album was supported by the ‘7/27 Tour,’ which began this year in June.
