The Beach Boys Phone number

band of American rockers that epitomized the 1960s Southern California idyll with their dulcet songs and distinctive vocal mesh. On the original lineup was Brian Wilson (born June 20, 1942), Dennis Wilson (born December 4, 1944), and Carl Wilson (born December 21, 1946). Michael Love (born March 15, 1941) and Alan Jardine (born February 6, 1948) were also on the original lineup (b. September 3, 1942, Lima, Ohio).

Marks and Johnston are two of the most notable members of the band’s later years (original name Benjamin Baldwin; b. June 27, 1942, Peoria, Illinois). Surf and hot rod culture of the Los Angeles Basin influenced the Beach Boys and lead singer-bassist-producer Brian Wilson, who became more known as the muse for post-war American suburban angst in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Even if they sold 70 million albums, their greatest accomplishment was their ability to articulate the bittersweet middle-class dreams of individuals who had participated in America’s great internal westward march in the 1920s. As children, the Beach Boys sang the praises of their parents’ California dream, which they had to work so hard for.

Parents in suburban Los Angeles (Hawthorne) encouraged the Wilson boys to experiment with music. Their father, Murry, was a songwriter who ran a small machines shop. After forming a band with cousin Love and friends Jardine and Marks as teenagers, Brian teamed up with drummer Dennis and guitarist Carl to write and perform pop songs in the style of Chuck Berry and the Four Freshmen and the Four Preps.

Dennis, a novice surfer and adolescent regular in the Manhattan Beach surfing scene, pushed Brian and the rest of the group (then known as the Pendletons) to write songs that praised the new sport of surfing, which they did. The Beach Boys’ first single, “Surfin’,” was a regional hit in 1961, which led to their signing as Capitol Records’ first rock act in 1962. For years, Brian would write nearly all of the group’s songs, often with the help of partners (most frequently Love). “409” and “Surfin’ Safari” quickly made the Beach Boys a household name in the United States, while their debut album peaked at number 14.

It wasn’t until “Surfin’ USA” became a financial success in 1963 (the year Brian Jardine, returning from school, replaced Marks as his replacement) that Brian gained full artistic control. In Surfer Girl, he was granted unprecedented creative control by Capitol Records as a writer, arranger, and producer. With its infantile yearning and sophisticated pop poignancy, the song’s title track evoked both the Four Freshmen and Walt Disney’s Pinocchio (1940). “Little Deuce Coupe,” “I Get Around,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” and “Don’t Worry Baby” are just a few examples of Brian’s varied compositions with crisply evocative rock punch.

Glen Campbell and Johnston took Brian’s place on tour after the first of a series of stress- and drug-related breakdowns in 1964, when he retreated from the stage. Following the Beach Boys’ studio output, Brian devoted himself to Pet Sounds, surpassing all his role models with the band’s masterpiece (1966). Pet Sounds were Paul McCartney’s inspiration for the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, a bittersweet collection of songs about coming of age and the pangs of unrequited love (1967).

In the autumn of 1966, Brian’s “Good Vibrations,” a shockingly prismatic “pocket symphony,” achieved number one on the charts, putting him back in the spotlight. Self-confidence dwindled when an even more ambitious project called Dumb Angel, which later changed its name to Smile, failed to make its scheduled December 1966 completion date. In a state of exhaustion and depression, Brian withdrew from the band and made a timid but enjoyable release titled Smiley Smile (1967).

The Beach Boys Biography/Wiki

For the rest of the decade, the Beach Boys released albums that were less consistent both commercially and musically. In 1970, they left Capitol and signed with Warner Brothers after a court dispute over back royalties. Brian became a recluse and experimented with hallucinogens when the brilliant Sunflower failed to sell well, while the rest of the band produced many strong but modestly selling albums in the early 1970s.

Endless Summer, a compilation of the band’s best hits, topped the charts in 1974. 15 Big Ones, an imperfect but commercially successful album released in 1976, marked Brian’s return from drug addiction. Dennis released his first solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue, in 1977, and it was a critical success. When Dennis drowned in 1983, the Beach Boys seemed to be on the verge of a new artistic epoch. Released in 1985, The Beach Boys is one of the greatest albums ever made. It was 1988, and the Beach Boys were elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with Brian’s self-titled solo album receiving critical praise and “Kokomo” being a number one smash.

The Beach Boys continued to tour and record throughout the 1990s, with Love serving as the group’s longstanding business manager. “Imagination,” Brian’s follow-up to his debut solo album, was published in addition to collaborations with Van Dyke Parks (Orange Crate Art), as well as with his two daughters Carnie and Wendy (The Wilsons). Carl, the band’s artistic rock during the stormy ’70s and ’80s, died in 1998 after a battle with cancer. Endless Harmony, a compilation of previously unreleased Beach Boys material, was published later that year.
